As we gear up for the Oscars, I'll be featuring the nominees for Best Costume Design. It's a big year for this category as the films nominated represent several vastly different historical periods. Be it eighteenth century England or San Francisco in the '70s, these films include some gorgeous threads.

In the spirit of the upcoming Halloween holiday and costuming and masquerade, I made this week's Buzzworthy challenge all about movies with great costumes, and the results were dazzling! I feel the need to check out each of these movies all over again just to get some inspiration for my own Halloween costume this year. Below are some of the bookmarked movies that I chose to highlight and then a widget including all of the selected titles.

This week I've been featuring the Oscar nominees for Best Costumes, and on Friday I'll ask you to vote for the one you think should win. In the meantime, I've planned this week's Movie Night around three movies that I think were completely deserving of their Best Costume wins.
Amadeus
One of my all-time favorite movies, Amadeus is so much more than just an amazing period piece.

As we ease into October I've been thinking a lot about Halloween and the idea of costuming and masquerade. Many people gain inspiration for Halloween costumes from the clothing they find in movies. For this week's Buzzworthy challenge, let's take a look at those movies that feature some of the best costumes ever.

It's always nice to talk about the finer things in life, you know, Bowie, vintage, denim, rock 'n roll, ch-ch-ch-ch-Cherry Bombs. The Runaways, starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, hits theaters Friday. Chronicling the all-girl rock band from the '70s, we'll witness the early start of Joan Jett and her rockin' entourage.

Kristen Stewart looked like she learned a thing or two from the Runaways costume designer, sporting a red leather jacket at LaGuardia airport in NYC this afternoon as she headed out of town. She's finished up with the East Coast leg of The Runaways promotion, and after a quick stop tonight in Austin for a SXSW screening, she can sit back and see how opening weekend goes. At last night's premiere, she revealed that she has a vacation coming up with no movies planned between now and Breaking Dawn.
